After completing the Northridge Earthquake Litigation Project, I launched a technology business under contract with my primary insurance client. We wrote software for litigation management and electronic billing, including payments integration. We also wrote software and managed offshore labor in the thousands for the review of medical records and integration with existing claim processes.
I am currently one of the founders of a business that is transforming the auto property damage process for a major auto insurance company. We want to introduce a repair or replace decision early in the claim process because we believe consumers would rather replace a severely damaged vehicle than repair it.
Software Liability Torts
I have experience in startups and in technology that is unusual for litigation counsel. I believe that we are quickly becoming a society managed by software, which will result in new torts requiring lawyers with technology background. Self-driving autos, for example, will upend traditional liability law and create new winners and losers. Deep understanding of how software works and the engineering of risk will become a necessary legal skill as these technologies permeate our society and are integrated with existing automobiles on shared roads.
If you are injured as a result of a vehicle due to driver assistance technology errors, I encourage you to seek a consultation with my firm. These kinds of software defects may lend themselves to class action litigation as well, which is a type of case I seek enthusiastically.
